Electric Hybrid / Honda HRV 2000 Model
Mark & Peter searched for some time to find the perfect vehicle to convert to electric.  Then Mark had the Bright Idea to convert a vehicle to Electric / Petrol Hybrid, the car then became obvious to Mark, the Honda HRV 2000 Model was the chosen machine for a few good reasons.  Number one, the car is all wheel drive. The best part is that you can leave the motor in as the fuel tank is in the forward part of the car, then as it's all wheel drive the front wheels can stay connected to the petrol engine whilst the rear wheels can be connected to the Electric motor giving it the best of both worlds.  We believe that 95% of driving the car will be on electric power but just in case, on rare occasions, we still have the petrol motor.

 Now that we had the vehicle we needed the Motor Azure Dynamics/Solectria AC55 3-Phase AC 320v,Controller Azure Dynamics/Solectria DMOC445 and Batteries 100 China HiPower 100amp, 3.20 Volt, Lithium-Ion 320v we got the Motor and Controller from a friend in Brisbane plus a lot of info about them.

Motor  Azure Dynamics/Solectria AC55

The Azure Dynamics AC55 with DMOC445 Drive System features the Azure AC55 motor mounted in an axial design. This single motor directly drives the differential, typically via a short driveshaft. Because of the direct drive layout, the drive unit fits into the area formerly occupied by the traditional drive shaft of delivery vans, trucks, etc., making vehicle conversions fast and easy Applications & Features In battery-EV applications, the AC55 and DMOC445 drives are designed for use in vans, trucks and buses weighing from 5,000 to 11,000 lbs. The motor is of a low-speed design for a typical 4-5:1 overall vehicle drive ratio.
